Perinatal Mental Health
Perinatal mental health encompasses the emotional and psychological experiences associated with family building, pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. These concerns can affect both women and men and may arise at any stage of the journey, including infertility, conception challenges, pregnancy loss, pregnancy, childbirth, adoption, and the transition to parenthood. While these experiences can be joyful, they can also bring significant stress, uncertainty, grief, identity shifts, and relationship challenges that deserve specialized support.
Our perinatal mental health services are provided by a clinician who holds the Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C), an advanced credential demonstrating specialized training in maternal and paternal mental health. This expertise allows for the identification and treatment of concerns that are unique to the perinatal period, including postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, perinatal OCD, birth trauma, adjustment difficulties, and postpartum psychosis. Working with a PMH-C provider ensures that care is informed by current research and best practices, helping individuals and families receive targeted support during one of life's most significant transitions.
Kate specializes in perinatal mental health and can help treat and guide individuals as they navigate infertility, pregnancy, and postpartum concerns including grief related to infant deaths.
